THE FLAVOUR AND TRADITION

We take a great deal of care in our kitchen, not only provide everything that is special to tuscan tradition, but also in the use of completely organic produce grown in our own vegetable garden.

In recent times the tendency to rediscover the values and flavours of healthy eating has become more pronounced, satisfying the desires of both the palate and the body, helping ourselves to live better.

Therefore our main aim is to aid the discovery of the riches of this land through the flavour of produce grown organically and completely chemical free.

The principal aspects of traditional peasant cooking are genuiness and knowledgeable use of that which nature and man produce: An authentic, genuine, sincere kitchen which does not follow fashion and fads.

NATURAL INGREDIENTS:

EGGS : for home made pastries and pasta (tagliatelle, pappardelle)
CHICKEN, RABBIT
VEGETABLES :
lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, eggplant, melon, spinach, radish, potatoes and onions (all our own produce).
GAME : Wild boar, pheasant ... for sauces, gravys ad main courses
FRUIT : fresh in season for jams and cakes.


In this culinary journey we cannot help but mention the "pearls" of the area that flourish as a result of the special and exclusive characteristics of the soil:

WINE AND OIL.

The "Strada del vino" (The Wine Road) passes close by Casa Uberto. Along this road, well travelled by enthusiasts of the theme, one finds a myriad of vineyards, their proprietors only to willing to accompany you on your journey of flavours, offering you local wines to enjoy with your meals. It is possible to organise trips and tasting through the
"Strada del vino".
